Barbara Ramsey

Barbara designs and sews abstract art works using traditional quilting techniques and often features fabrics she has hand-dyed. She has been quilting since 1996, and her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in California, Washington, and New York.

As a quilt teacher, Barbara’s main goal is to help quilt-makers build the skills they need for improvisational work. She teaches techniques to create distorted geometric forms, twistier curves, and more interesting pieced inserts. Her enthusiasm for original design and her dedication to precise construction enables students to become more confident as well as more skillful.
