Raku is a traditional form of hand-thrown Japanese pottery that is removed from the kiln while still glowing hot, creating unique character in tea bowls and vessels.
Jim Romberg is internationally recognized for his raku work. Before moving to Port Townsend, he was a professor and head of the ceramics program at Southern Oregon University for 19 years, and is now working with PtSA to expand its ceramics program.
