YOUTH: Wearable Art with Margie McDonald (Grades 4-12), August 5-9

Participants in Margie’s class will have an opportunity to construct a piece for the Youth Wearable Art Show, November 2019!

We will explore the wonderful world of wearable art, looking at it as sculpture for the body. Students will learn basic construction techniques and how to make art fit on the body and still be able to walk with style down a runway.

Tools, paper and wire will be provided. Student are encouraged to bring any material they wish to use. In addition to Margie's instruction, capable volunteers will be on hand to provide construction assistance for those who need some technical help.

Daily Schedule: Participants arrive at 10 AM at Port Townsend School of the Arts in Building 306 at Fort Worden State Park. Pick-up at 3 PM. Please have your student bring their own brown bag lunch.

The week will end at PTSA with an exhibition for family and friends, showcasing the art created by students throughout the week.

A limited number of scholarships will be available.
