Thinking in Black & White, Photography with Ginny Banks, Sept 7 - Oct 5

THURSDAYS, SEPT 7–OCT 5, 10 AM–NOON

When we think of great photography prior to the digital era and even prior to the usage of color film, we think of black and white imagery.  The history of photography was monochrome and people thought of photography as being black and white. Color was introduced in the mid twentieth century and it wasn’t accepted as art right away.  Today we can digitally shoot in color and convert the image to black and white. We can have it both ways. In this class we will discuss elements of design in our compositions and learn from photographic masters throughout history along with contemporary photographers all using black and white. There will be the possibility of a field trip the third week. Beginners are welcome!
