Explore the possibilities of creating a multi-layered piece of artwork using beeswax as the primary medium. The encaustic process involves painting with hot beeswax and resin onto an absorbent surface. The layers of wax are then fused together using a torch or embossing heat tool. In this class, students will be introduced to the history of encaustic art as well as contemporary encaustic examples. Practice collage, drawing and painting techniques to create your own unique encaustic artwork.

All Supplies Provided. A $15 supplies fee, cash or check payable to Dana Weir at the start of the workshop.
