MONDAYS, NOVEMBER 6–DECEMBER 4, 1 PM-4 PM

This class is for those who have taken the previous class or are comfortable with controlled areas of flat and graded washes.  Each class will include instructor demonstrations and individually supervised exercises. You may work from instructor provided photos and drawing or bring your own specimen to draw (not to the first class).  We will cover drybrush, color mixing and sequence of glazing , masking techniques, underpainting, use of gouche for backgrounds and highlights and water drops on plants.  The instructor has taught this class for over 25 years, both for college credit and pleasure.  She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.

ABOUT MARCY

SUPPLY LIST:
-30" x 40" Crescent Cold Press Illustration Board #310. Six 10"  squares should be cut from this and brought to the first class. Save the remainder of the board for later.
-Small tubes of transparent watercolor (student grade is fine):
cadmium red deep, cadmium yellow light, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, sap green and lamp black (for studies only)
-12" ruler
-HB pencil, pink pearl eraser, kneadable eraser
-Palette (small round plastic is fine)
-large container for water, rags or paper towels
-#6 sable or #8 synthetic round watercolor brush
