Autumn Winds: Creating a Handmade Book That Celebrates Autumn with Roxanne Evans Stout, September 29 & 30

Don't you love Autumn?

Follow the "Autumn Winds," and join me as I journey to the beautiful seaport town of Port Townsend, Washington. Together we will gather to celebrate Autumn, its colors, its changing light and the changes autumn brings in the natural world. We will create a beautiful hand-crafted book that exemplifies what this season means to you.

This book will have wooden covers, which we will stain and glaze and embellish. Distressed metal sheets will be attached and add to their beauty. Our inside pages will be covered with vintage silks that will represent this beautiful season. Pages will be collaged, stitched and wired, and lastly natural treasures will be attached to each, creating a book that you will treasure forever.

I will supply the wood pieces for the cover, the metal sheets and vintage silk.

About Roxanne

I am a mixed media artist who lives and creates in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The mountains and river lands that surround my home are my constant inspiration.

I share my art in workshops throughout the United States and have had my work shown and been published internationally. I teach mixed media art at Oregon Institute of Science and Technology and also teach online workshops to students from all over the world.

Teaching enables me to share my passion...nothing makes me more happy than helping my students through their own process of renewal. My goal is to help you find your own magic. Through my art I would like to convey the feeling of renewal, connecting, timelessness and re-creation.
